Week 34: North Dakota (Fargo)

Category: Drama/Crime

Quote of Interest:

“So, that was Mrs. Lundegaard on the floor in there. And I guess that was your accomplice in the wood chipper. And those three people in Brainerd. And for what? For a little bit of money? There’s more to life than a little money, you know. Don’tcha know that? And here ya are, and it’s a beautiful day. Well. I just don’t understand it.”

–marge gunderson

Three words to describe this film/state: Cold-blooded fools

Best ‘Extras’:

  • Victim in Field, played by Ƭ̵̬̊
  • Bark Beetle Narrator, voiced by Don Wescott

State food/recipe to try: Lefse / Strawberry-Rhubarb pie / Chippers / Chokecherry wine / Juneberry jam

Earring Inspo Character: Marge Gunderson

Other Notes: A highly entertaining classic worth re-watching, especially for its portrayal of male characters. Good juxtapositions of stark white/blood red, law/crime, brains/lack thereof, women/men. This film would probably make a great radio show based on its dialogue and regional accents alone.
